Presented here is a small selection of the more than 100 layouts I created for ALIAS during pre and early production. Initially I worked on creating one image that set the look and feel of the front-end and then using that as a template worked outwards covering all the required screens. In doing so I made sure that every screen was consistently laid out, took into consideration all localization requirements and could also ultimately facilitate changes and iterations easily. |

All the layouts were created at full PAL resolution in Photoshop so that I could produce the NTSC versions easily with no re-working or moving elements around. Since memory is always an issue with bitmap intensive front-ends I designed the layout with as much re-use as possible always in mind. The background and top and bottom red bars are static and all dynamic content is overlaid in the centre. |
