F1 World Grand Prix (2000) |

Box Art |
|||||
This image was originally created as box the art for the PC version of F1 WGP. A large portion of this image is actually 2D rather than 3D because of the time involved to complete the image was very short. The car, background and ground plane I rendered out seperately using Mental Ray and composited it over a background matte painting I created in Photoshop. The smoke and glows were hand painted. Other credits for this image are Paul Leonard, driver helmet and Yuta Nakamura, car chassis. |

Box Art Variation |
|||||
Since I had to create the artwork before the 1999 F1 season had actually ended, it was still not clear who was going to win the world championship. This meant that I had to create two variations of the artwork, one version with Michael Schumacher winning and the other version with Mika Hakkinnen winning. Fortunately I could swap the car positions around fairly easily and re-render. |
